One of the things weve learned over many years in Hi-Fi is that improving a system doesnt necessarily mean spending a fortune.
We recently received the following email from a customer, Jon, after he purchased two sets of our 30mm Sorbothane Isolation Hemispheres.
Jon was initially somewhat sceptical about what such a simple and relatively inexpensive change could achieve which makes his experience all the more interesting.
Jon writes:
I recently purchased two sets of Sorbothane 30mm Isolation Hemispheres from yourselves following a conversation I had on Google Gemini about how I could improve the quality of my 12-year-old DALI Zensor 1 bookshelf speakers, which I run from a Sonos Connect:Amp.
I had recently connected a fairly modest Yamaha YST subwoofer to the sub connection on my Sonos amp, which made a notable and pleasing difference, but I still felt there was more to unlock.
Although somewhat sceptical that the hemispheres would help and a little reluctant given their price, I felt I needed to let you know that having installed them this morning the difference is DRAMATIC.
Particularly when playing high-resolution files (2-channel, 24-bit/48kHz) from my wifes MacBook Pro via the Line In connection.
Not just in the bass, where I was expecting cleaner response, but the speakers also seem brighter and cleaner right across the frequency range.
In summary, Im REALLY happy I made the purchase and wanted to let you know too.

Sorbothane isolation isnt about changing the electronics or the loudspeaker itself. Its purpose is to help reduce the transmission of unwanted mechanical vibration between equipment and the surface supporting it. As Jon discovered, sometimes a relatively small change can produce a surprisingly worthwhile improvement.
