Joining the Masterclass series is the DAC-4 digital to analogue converter. As you would expect from Sugden, they have designed something unique. Unlike other manufactures, they offer a simple solution for digital replay with two main priorities; superb sound and ease of connectivity. A long development period and over twenty five years experience in digital audio, allowed Sugden to try and test many technologies. The DAC-4 is non oversampling and without filtering in the digital domain. This allows them to dictate every stage of the conversion process and produce a product with a true ‘SUGDEN SOUND’.

Connectivity comes by way of three coaxial inputs, two optical inputs and a USB input. With six inputs in total the DAC-4 can take centre stage for all your digital components. The ability to accept high resolution data up to 24bit/192k on the coax SPDIF inputs further extends flexibility when replaying music files. The analogue output stage is critical to the performance of the DAC-4. The use of a class A output stage provides the important link from data to music pleasure.
